This trip will be a great opportunity to target one of the most exciting fish in the sea with captain Tyler Putney of Flatliner Charters. Ryan of MFCC might hop onboard, but he's unsure as of right now.
During this trip you will be targeting "recreational size" bluefin tuna that you can keep and bring home to eat. We'll need at least 3 people to signup in order for this trip to sail, and there will be a maximum of 4 anglers onboard.
Odds are you will be fishing Stellwagen Bank and using live mackerel on relatively light tackle. All gear and equipment will be provided but you're free to bring your own rod and reel if you'd like.
Aside from bluefin tuna, you may also see different species of whales, dolphins, seabirds, sharks and who knows what else! For many people, these tuna trips have been a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Here are the details:
- Price: $499/person
- Max number of anglers: 4 (plus captain Tyler); we need at least 3 people to signup in order for this trip to sail
- Trip length: 8 hours
- Trip time: usually sunrise or a little before: exact time will be emailed to you this Wednesday in the evening
- Port of departure: odds are the trip will be departing from Green Harbor in Marshfield, although we'll confirm that with you via email Wednesday evening
- Area fished: more than likely Stellwagen Bank
- Techniques used: most likely live mackerel on 50W stand up gear, but could include casting lures, trolling or vertical jigging (whatever's required to get a bite)
