This trip will be a great opportunity to target one of the most exciting fish in the sea with captain Cullen Lundholm of Cape Star Charters.
During these trips you will be targeting smaller bluefin tuna in the 50-200 pound range using spinning and stand up gear. Fishing for tuna is exhilarating. You may cast plugs at breaking bluefin, vertical jig to tunas feeding down deep, troll or even fish live bait. Whatever is required to get a bite!
You'll be fishing with Capt. Cullen Lundholm of Cape Star Charters on his beautiful 33' Conch center console. Captain Cullen is as dialed-in to the tuna bite as it gets. He has an extensive network of captains, friends and pilots directing him to the tuna.
Important NOAA Update: NOAA announced a closure of the recreational bluefin tuna fishery, effective August 12th at 11:30pm. This means recreational size bluefin can only be caught and released—keeping of rec-size bluefin is not allowed.
Any giant tuna caught during this trip will be sold by Cullen. If you're successful landing a giant, you will receive a 20% off discount code for a future MFCC group trip!
All gear will be provided. Aside from bluefin tuna, you may also see different species of whales, dolphins, seabirds, sharks and who knows what else! For many people, these tuna trips have been a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
"Just the experience of being out there early in the morning with the minke and humpback whales around us, the many types of seagoing birds birds hovering and diving everywhere and a great bunch of guys was phenomenal. Catching two bluefin tuna was the icing on the cake. Captain Cullen put us in the right spot, using the right jigs to get those beauties. What a day." - Paul Dunn
