This September I am extremely excited to be offering flounder trips with none other than captain Mike Fowler of Bad Dog Sportfishing!
Captain Mike is an authority on Cape Cod winter flounder fishing. He's also been a featured speaker at numerous My Fishing Cape Cod events where he's shared invaluable winter flounder fishing advice and tips.
People travel from near and far to go flounder fishing with captain Mike. In fact, his Cape Cod Bay flounder fishing trips are often fully booked months in advance.
Flounder lay along the bottom and eat small fish, worms, clams, and mussels. During these trips you'll be drift fishing along the bottom using bait. Mike can supply rods and reels but you're free to bring you own if you prefer.
Catching winter flounder is a lot of fun, but the real draw of these fish is for eating. Without a doubt, flounder are one of Cape Cod's most delicious and best eating fish!
Mike's boat The Bad Dog, is a 31ft BHM. It's a down-east style Maine designed hull that provides an exceptionally comfortable ride and safety in all weather conditions.
The Bad Dog is equipped with the most recent and up-to-date Garmin electronics. The boat is powered by a 350hp Caterpillar diesel motor paired with 300 gallons of fuel. It has a dry wheelhouse, a toilet, and a large back deck with plenty of room for fishing.
Here are the trip details:
- Cost: $265/person
- Number of anglers: 3-6
- Trip time: 6am-7am departure
- Trip length: 5 hours
- Port of departure: Sesuit Harbor in Dennis
- Techniques used: Drift fishing with bait. All gear and bait is supplied but you're free to bring your own rod and reel if you prefer.
- Please dress warm and wear sturdy boots or sneakers.
- There is a toilet onboard the boat.
Refund/cancellation policy
If the trip is cancelled by captain Mike due to bad weather (or for any other reason) you will receive a full refund. If you need to cancel your reservation, and if you are able to let me know with at least 14 days notice, then I will be able to offer you a full refund with no questions asked.
If it's less than 14 days notice, then I will do my best to find someone who can take your spot, but I can't guarantee I'll be able to. If I'm successful with finding a replacement, then I can give you a full refund. Of course if you're able to find someone who can take your spot, then that works too.
All-in-all these flounder trips with Mike and Bad Dog Sportfishing are shaping up to be a blast! I am really excited to add Mike to our team of MFCC group trip captains.
